About the Estelle Chasen was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She worked as a librarian for many years, and then as a teacher of Hebrew and Jewish studies before moving to Israel with her husband Phillip in 2002. They live in Ra'anana, close to their children and grandchildren.
