After a wonderful evening with her BFF, Pam was kidnapped by aliens, the Yari, from bed while asleep. She woke up in a sleeping pod, her frantic screaming and banging, brought one of the Yari. He opened it and took her out only to lock her in a cage. He abruptly leaves her after making sure she had water, food bars, and bedding.
The ship stops between the planet Onus and one of its moons. The Onus King opens communications but gets no response. After a day of attempting to get a response, they treat the ship as hostile. Magnar and his men board the ship, with no resistance from the Yari. When she was told she was his life-mate, and he waved his arms in front of her, showing her the mating marks he was now wearing.
Pam refused to believe it. Even the next day, when her mating marks appeared, she found out nine other women were taking her planet. If that wasn’t a big enough shock, Chief Medical Office Piter tells her they were in stasis for 200 years. Pam freaked out. She couldn’t go home. She was over 225 years old, and some crazy guy said they were married.
Magnar was shocked at finding his mate was not Onus. And that the ship she was on, the crew could talk. Their vocal cords had been surgically removed. There was nothing to explain why the Yari, a peaceful people, why they would do such a thing.
Rumors of males planning to kidnap the earth females and use them as breeders or sell them to the highest bidder were running rampant, causing unrest amongst the crew. Can he protect Pam and the others?
More tittle-tattle brings murmurings that Magar’s grandfather was responsible for mating-marks hadn’t shown up since the reign of King John. It was charade so that he would have a wife loyal only to him. Other gossip circulated which inferred his family line was corrupt and the death of him was the only answer.
Is Pam an instrument of change... for good? Can Magnar find the ones who are behind the threats before his world is in chaos?
